Thank you for your interest in becoming a Power Up Gambia Intern.

Power Up Gambia has accomplished a great deal in The Gambia and much of that is due to the hard work and dedication of our volunteers and interns. All that hard work benefits our interns as well – many former interns have gone on to take leadership roles in other organizations as a result of their experience working with Power Up Gambia!

Currently we are not recruiting for interns.

Check back on this page in AUGUST 2016 when we will be posting our fall internship positions.

Thank you!

Power Up Gambia has provided lifesaving solar power solutions to hospitals and clinics in The Gambia. But did you know we have done almost all of that by the hard work of students just like you? More hospitals and clinics in The Gambia are still without access to electricity. That’s why we need your help!

By organizing a Student Chapter of Power Up Gambia at your school, your group can fundraise to provide a solar power system to a clinic, help “power up” a hospital, educate other students about health care needs in The Gambia, and be part of the Power Up Gambia team.

Power Up Gambia staff will provide you with guidance in recruiting members of your chapter, planning fundraising events, and building your own leadership capabilities and that of your fellow students.

Starting a PUG chapter gets your campus involved in providing lifesaving sustainable healthcare, develops your skill set, provides you with marketable experience, and is FUN!

Students at the University of Pennsylvania and Juniata College successfully started PUG chapters and have made a huge difference in The Gambia through their efforts. So what are you waiting for? Send us an email or Contact Us to get started and build your own PUG Student Chapter at your school!

That’s right BYOC PUG Build Your Own Chapter, and help Power Up Gambia!

Want to make a difference but don’t know how? It’s simple – just remember that knowledge is powerful, and you can help others learn about The Gambia and the work of Power Up Gambia by hosting a Power Up Party!

Gather together 6 or 10 like-minded friends, and invite them to a Power Up Gambia information session at your home! If you live near the Philadelphia area we will arrange a volunteer speaker to come to your house and share what we are accomplishing in hospitals and clinics in The Gambia through renewable solar energy. If you live further away, no problem, we would be happy to send you a short film and materials you can share with your friends.

Together, we can help make a difference for the young patients and their parents who need access to reliable electricity and water when they come to hospitals and clinics for treatment.
