Our Advisory Board is composed and structured with members who provide non-binding but informed guidance and serve as an ally between the Core Team Members and the Board of Directors.

Our members have an extensive background intheenergy, medical and finance industryand arewilling to advise and lend their expertiseto support our board, staff, andprograms.


Brent has 12years of experience in the renewable energy industry, and currently serves as Executive V.P. at Community Energy, a solar and wind power firm based in Radnor, PA. Prior to Community Energy, Brent worked for the U.S DOE, and received a degree from James Madison University. Brent is passionate about sustainable village power across the world, and is excited to join the Power Up Gambia team in their mission to provide clean reliable power to health care facilities across The Gambia.

Ron Celentano is a solar energy industry consultant with Celentano Energy Services (CES) He started designing/installing solar thermal systems over 30 years ago, and started designing/installing solar PV systems in 1996. As a solar PV industry consultant, Mr. Celentano provides general education about the technology and the economics of solar; system design or review/assistance with design; technical assistance drafting RFPs; oversees the installation process, and conducts testing/inspection of solar PV projects. He has trained hundreds of solar PV installers, and assisted SEI and FSEC in several of their solar PV training seminars, and is involved with solar PV curriculum development and training with the DOE/PSU Northern Mid-Atlantic Solar Instructor Training Center, and with PA DEP/PSU Code Official Solar PV Training Project.



Kathleen J. Hall serves as Senior Vice President and Managing Director for FAROs Americas region. Most recently, Ms. Hall served as a Corporate Officer at Avery Dennison as Vice President and General Manager of the companys Graphics and Reflective Solutions and Performance Tapes Americas businesses. Prior to joining Avery Dennison, Ms. Hall spent twenty-six years at E.I DuPont De Nemours & Company in roles of increasing responsibility, ranging from operations and sourcing to sales, marketing and global business leadership. Ms. Hall holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University.

Dr. Shannon Mrquez serves as the Interim Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the Drexel School of Public Health. She holds a PhD in environmental health sciences and engineering from The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Gillings School of Global Public Health. As a public health engineer, an accomplished scholar, and an experienced administrator, Dr. Mrquez has garnered local, national, and international recognition in global and environmental health.
